Married to a Pirate by Athena Rose

Writer's picture: Aly MAly M

This book has pirates of the Caribbean vibes.

The Royal Navy vs. Pirates. All Sailors vs. Sirens. Magical objects.

Georgette gets kidnapped by the handsome Capitan Stone, and develops Stockholm syndrome. Her betrothed Prince Edward is fighting to get her back, but she doesn’t really want to go back. Sirens are mad at men and are killing all who sail because something was stolen from their goddess. Every time Georgette gets on a ship it sinks.

However, most of the book was a huge tease. You are lead to believe that there will be bedroom action, but the majority of the book is a bunch of explosions and sword fights. When they finally do get together, the author describes it as “a whirlwind of rampant lovemaking” followed by a few minor details. Not a complete fade to black, but not the great scene that we had been waiting 85% of the book for. Sorry, but I feel mislead. It had action but not that kind of “action”.
