I was a bit reluctant to read the second book in the series because I felt like there’s no way the author would be able to keep the same energy throughout the entire series but boy was I wrong. And I’m thrilled that I was wrong. I read the whole book in one day in pretty much one sitting.
This book picks up right where the first one left off and Avery’s hunt for Tobias Hawthorne the second . There are lots of clues, Lots of travel around to different houses looking for clues just like the first book. I loved the romantic tension between her Grayson and Jamison.
Avery learns a little bit more about why she was in the will and learned a lot about her parents. I felt like it ended in a good place, so I’m not sure exactly what the final book will have the store.
