I have read this YA book at least 3 times in my life. It is a book that stuck with me. It is a little bit dystopian, a little sci-fi, a little action, and a little adventure.
Matteo is special, he isn’t like the other children who live in Opium. El Patron the leader there loves him, just like he loves himself, because Matteo is him. There is a reason he was made, but will Matteo be willing to fulfill his purpose.
I loved this book, because it had twists and wasn’t what I expected. The first time I read it I was in middle school, It was one of my first sci-fi and dystopian book, and I feel like it was a book that started my love for those genres.
